Temple Etiquette

Sree Venkateswara Temple is a Hindu Temple dedicated to the worship of Lord Venkateswara (Balaji) in accordance with the Sri Vaishnava Sampradayam following Pancharatra Agama. The following guidelines are to be strictly observed in the Temple: 1. Idols: Touching idols in the sanctum and Utsava Murthis anywhere is strictly prohibited. 2. Attire: Refrain from wearing shorts, tank tops, leather apparel and revealing outfits. 3. Prasadam: Home cooked prasadam will not be offered as ‘naivedyam’ to the deities. Devotees are allowed to bring whole fruits (not cut), dry fruits and nuts, oil, ghee, flowers, dhupam (agarbathi) or milk for abhishekam as personal offering to the deities. 4. Offerings: Please hand your personal offerings to the priest or as directed by the priest in the baskets outside the Sanctums. Kindly do not reach into the Sanctums at any time to leave your personal offerings inside the Sanctums. Kindly do not interrupt the priest in the middle of the pooja to give your personal offerings. 5. Sankeerthanam (bhajans): It is the sampradayam, that in HIS presence only HIS name is sung. Therefore, all bhajans and songs should be about Srimannarayana or HIS avatars (Rama, Krishna, etc), HIS consorts, Garuda and Hanuman in the main hall. Please do not use the prefix or suffix of your personal guru(s) in the bhajans. For proper compliance with the bhajans, please contact the religious committee.

Ganesa (2018 - Present)

Ganesa or Ganapati, also known as Vighneswara or Vinayaka is the most popular of the Hindu deities. No undertaking can get started without first worshipping him. This is because he is known as the Lord of Obstacles (Vighneswara or Vighnaraja). He is also worshipped as the god of education, knowledge, wisdom and wealth

Sree Venkateswara is the God of Kali yuga. ‘Kalau Venkata Nayakah’ say the puranas. In fact for Krita yuga the designated god for the age was Narasimha, for Treta yuga it was Sree Rama, in Dwapara yuga it was Sree Krishna and for Kali yuga the God easily accessible is Sree Venkateswara.

Goddess Sridevi, is one of the numerous forms of Goddess Lakshmi worshipped in Hindu religion. Legend has it that Goddess Laxmi appeared in the form of Sridevi during the Samudramanthan or the churning of the ocean. This is mentioned in the Vishnu Purana. Goddess Sridevi is usually visualized as having two hands and sitting in Padmasana.

Garuda is a faithful devotee of the Lord Venkateswara and he stands with his hands joined in supplication (the Anjali pose). Being the Lord\'s mount he is shown with outstretched wings, ever ready to carry him.

Lord Hanuman or Anjaneya personifies divine nature and super-human personality shaped by the strength of celibacy, humility, selflessness, determination, fearlessness and extraordinary commitment for the work of divine.
